Taking Care of Business

modest lds fashion blog clothed much salt lake city utah mormon modesty style
Wearing thrifted boy's blazer, secondhand Target top (free with store credit from Uptown Cheapskate), J Brand jeans, Ann Taylor flats ($9).

This felt very business-y. My work doesn't necessarily require business outfits, just decent ones. I think if I had skinny blue jeans on it would've been better... Does anyone know of any good brands for skinny jeans? I can't afford to buy another pair of J Brands, which would be my first choice... Also, these shoes are NOT comfortable. It was final sale and an extra 30% off so how could I resist?? I should've tested them out more before I bought them.. I guess I do have something to sell to Uptown Cheapskate now.

I'm debating if I should go running or not. This headache is certainly not helping.

oh j brand are my absolute favorite jeans. have you tried looking on ebay? i usually find them for much better prices and if you know your size, it's a cinch!

anyway, you look so lovely in that blazer!

Check out the juniors dpt. at Macy's...they have their every day values on lots of skinny jeans, and your so petite, youd probably be better off in juniors. I think they range from $29-49....Tons of cute ones.

I've actually really enjoyed my skinnies from Old Navy. Before I got married and pregnant, I used to spend crazy amounts of money on jeans from Express and Limited. Now, I stick with Old Navy, and they've been good to me. :) Good luck!

I have a pair from Banana Republic that I got on clearance 2 years ago, I hope I can fit in them 20 years from now. Another great pair that I also love is Gap 1969, also couple of years ago but Gap just came out with them again and it's always easy to find Gap coupon, let me know if you need one, I can forward you one for 30% now!

I did try Old Navy and they were great, except that I ruined them

I have two pairs of Skinnies that I love...one is a pair from Target (Mossimo brand) and they fit like a glove! They were $19.00 I think on sale. The other pair I have and love is from Charlotte Russe...got them for $25.99 I think...also a great pair!

I wore skinny sweatpants to work today and no one noticed!! I'd say it's a much more comfortable option!! =) But i like to buy skinny jeans from PacSun while i'm in the US...

I've heard good things about Forever21's skinny jeans, can't wear skinny jeans myself though because of my pear shape

if you're looking for a good fit but lower on the price range, try express jeans. i've never had a problem with their skinny fit and i really like the fact that they have tons of different styles and shades.

good luck with the search!

I stay far, far way from skinny jeans, so I can't help you there :) I'm jealous of your weather - just looking at the open toed shoes makes me feel cold.

Oh I am loving that punch of pattern under that blazer. I really need to try to thrift a boys blazer, I think I'm petite enough.

Thanks for always commenting too! It's much appreciated.

I think it looks great with the black! My skinnies came from Gap so that's the only reference I have. That sucks about the shoes too. It's always so hard though to get an idea of how they will feel after wearing them around for a while.

You look very cute! =) Love the shoes, even though they're uncomfortable. Sometimes you just have to sacrifice comfort for fashion. =) Try Forever 21 for skinny jeans. I bought mine there and I love them. They fit so well!

gorgeous top, blazer and shoes but I've got to try the jeans cause I'm not familiar with the brand may be that's because I do too much vintage shopping haha :)

LOVE this whole look. I am usually not a fan of printed tops, but when paired with the black blazer and black pants, it really looks great. I may add a little print to my wardrobe now :)
Have a great day!

Have you heard of citizenblues.com? Designer jeans on the cheap, you just have to be patient and wait for good ones to come up.

I love the top and blazer, very cute! I am particular to Wet Seal jeans because they are inexpensive and they have lasted for a while in the wash. I also love F21 jeans, when I used to be able to wear them (I wear their plus size line now). The best place for jeans are thrift stores because you can get designer brands for less.
